Cabañas Valle Campanas
Welcome
to Cabañas Valle Campanas.
We are a small establishment operated by an authentic
Costarican family, located at five minutes drive from
Santa Elena downtown.
We offer comfortable cabins with fully equipped kitchen
making it ideal for families and visitors who wish to
stay in the Monteverde area for several days.
We invite to take a short walk through our property,
where is not uncommon to spot different animals such as
toucans, sloths, coati, agouti and birds since Valle
Campanas is also a refuge of an amazing quantity of
birds , including the famous Three-wattled Bellbird
during the time it migrates through our area.
Our ideology is the satisfaction of our guest, as we
offer the best personalized service in a familiar
environment.
Come and enjoy the peace and privacy we offer you here
in this small piece of paradise.
History
This
beautiful property of 12 hectares was acquired
by our father Rafael Arguedas in 1972 who was
one of the first settlers of Monteverde.
Back
in those days the major product of the farm was
sugar cane as well as cattle. The Arguedas
brothers worked together with their father,
pressing cane through a Trapiche, grinding and
boiling it to obtain molasses and brown sugar,
products that were used at that time instead of
refined sugar.
We
still use this Trapiche today, as a remembrance
of our father; we also have fun demonstrating to
our visitors how well it still works. You will
enjoy a glass of delicious fresh sugar cane
juice as it pours out of the Trapiche.
Grateful for our inheritance of this beautiful
place, we strive to preserve and protect it for
future generations, and continue our father's
work of reforestation in areas that were once
pastured hoping that our beautiful farm will
endure forever.

We wish never had to leave!
Our cabin was quiet all day and
we woke with the sounds of the
birds on our porch. A perfect
place to enjoy Monteverde/Santa
Elena, while still feeling like
you are away on the country.
Only a 15 minute walk to town
and a great way to stretch legs.
We will make this a stop on all
our trips to Costa Rica! Thank
you so much for being the
perfect hosts. Adios Chris and
